Treatment of Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse Using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

 While we're young, we have no wrongdoing. We are helpless since we have no resources with which to defend ourselves. We turn to our carers to nurture, care for, lead, and educate us about the world. Regrettably, many parents and carers are competent custodians but are not always able to deliver the greatest parenting owing to their challenges and problems. And then there are the parents who mistreat their children or are unable to protect them. Nonetheless, most of us carry emotional scars from our childhoods into adulthood. They are left with emotional scars that hinder their capacity to trust others, form meaningful connections, and participate actively in society as adults. Child abuse may take various forms, including verbal abuse, neglect, physical abuse, emotional/mental abuse, and sexual abuse; as an adult, these attacks may manifest as melancholy, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
